Seniors Safety Resources
At Safety City, we teach kids safety for life. There are two very important pieces of that statement in regards to our community. Safety does not stop when you turn twelve, kids of all ages can beneift from safety programming and resources. Safety skills also change as you go through life, the things you worry about change as you age just like your physical ability. Whatever safety means to you at whatever age you may be, we are here to help!
Mobility Practice
Loss of confidence and mobility are some of the biggest issues facing seniors as they move through life.
Whether it be on foot, with a cane or a walker, in a wheelchair, on a mobility scooter, e-bike, or any other form of transportation, come visit and take advantage of our CityScape to work on skills, build your balance, and grow your confidence in getting around!
The CityScape features downsized streets and sidewalks, meaning they are sinny and some of the turns can appear sharp at first, if you can master our course you will be golden for getting anywhere you can imagine.

Senior Relevant Programs
While there is no Safety education that is bad or un-needed, seniors have aunique place in our community and unique needs when it comes to their safety education. With long lives and many life experiences, we expect our seniors to already know how to cross the street, put air in their bike tires, or keep dangerous chemicals out of the kitchen.
Our senior programs are directed at hazards that you may have come across throughout you life, but now are becoming more prevelant or important to you.
Penguin Pedestrians
Crossing the street has changed over the years, with vechicles getting faster and new players in traffic.
Changes can happen quickly and the Penguin walk helps us adapt to winter conditions, poor sidewalk conditions, and more.
In this program we discuss safe weather conditions, learn the science behind the penguin walk, practice our steps, and venture out into the great outdoors to traverse slippery sidewalks, shallow snowbanks, and more.
Please note that this program will be postponed below -15°C (including windchill) for the safety of all participants.
Dress for the weather – good winter shoes are a must!
Message us to inquire about availability or to book in a private group!
Internet Safety
Learn to recognize common scams, practice good habits, basic device assistance, and more in our internet safety program.
As our world moves more and more online, so do the hazards of the internet grow and become more complex. By developing good habits, personal limitations, and gaining experience in identifying dangerous bahaviours, inappropriate messages, and more; we guide groups of all ages through the maze that is the internet in fun, educational, and meaningful ways.
This program can be delivered at Safety City or at your facility. Requires access to a projector, TV, or applicable display device.
